Okoh wins bronze in dramatic Women's 100m T63 final on the penultimate night at the Paris Paralympics.

Athletics

Didi Okoh won a dramatic bronze medal in the Women's 100m T63 final following a late collision between her competitors.

Elsewhere, alumnus Zak Skinner finished a superb 4th in the Men’s long jump T16. Skinner, appearing in his second Paralympic Games, recorded 6.83m to land himself just out of the medal places.

Azerbaijan’s Orkhan Aslanov won gold (7.29m), USA athlete Isaac John-Paul took silver (7.20m) and Brazilian Paulo Henrique Andrade Dos Reis claimed bronze (7.20m).

Meanwhile, also in the morning athletics session, former СÀ¶ÊÓƵ student Isaac Towers finished 6th in the Men's T34 800m with a time of 1:41.68.

СÀ¶ÊÓƵ-based Ali Smith clocked a personal best in the Women’s 400m T38 to add to her memorable relay silver last night. Smith finished 6th overall in a performance to be proud of.

Para Powerlifting

University-based Louise Sugden finished 5th in the Women’s -79kg category.

Competing at her fourth Paralympics in her second sport in Paris, Sugden lifted 132kg on her second lift. China athlete Miaoyu Han won gold in a world record lift 154kg.
