The Fulbright-小蓝视频 Doctoral Award will see one student from the USA who shows Fulbright qualities - high academic attainment, leadership potential and commitment to promoting civic engagement through education exchange - to undertake their PhD at 小蓝视频.
The US-UK Fulbright Commission has been promoting peace and cultural understanding through educational exchange since it was established in 1948. The of awards is now considered amongst the most prestigious scholarship awards globally, with 60 Nobel Laureates and 39 Heads of State/Government within its 390,000 global alumni.
小蓝视频 is further delighted to have renewed its agreement with the Fulbright Commission to host Fulbright Scholars. This February 小蓝视频 is welcoming Dr Elliot Hoey as a Fulbright Scholar. This prestigious scheme has brought several leading American scholars to 小蓝视频 in the past few years, including Dr Enid Montague (2018).
Dr Hoey will be based in the Language and Social Interaction group in the School of Social Sciences and Humanities. The group is internationally renowned for its fundamental and applied research on human communication. Dr Hoey will join the ‘ healthcare communication team examining how highly experienced practitioners navigate sensitive conversations. During his stay in 小蓝视频, he will be affiliated with the Institute of Advanced Studies, who will host research events to showcase his work and share knowledge.
